Job Description
West coast regional sales manager position for our client who manufactures and installs equipment relating to freeze drying, centrifugal concentration, and temperature control of processes (using fluid or air). Should come from Biotech Equipment industry. Strong Sales ability and excellent communication skills necessary.
GENERAL DESCRIPTIONS
This individual will be responsible for growing sales, new product introductions, channel partner development, and account relations.
Responsibility includes developing a working relationship with local distributor and manufacturer representatives and their sales management for increased field support and maximum sales emphasis. Must be able to coordinatie efficient and timely coverage of targeted accounts through our channel partner network and direct contact with end users. The Account Manager will also be responsible for tracking account progress and using a combination of field visits, phone calls, emails, and faxes to grow sales. These activities will be entered into Goldmine and synchronized on a regular basis. As a member of the sales team, the incumbent will be called upon to develop an annual sales plan with monthly forecasts for their assigned accounts, while also assisting periodically in responsibilities outside his/her geographic boundaries.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Meet or exceed all Sales Plans/Targets for assigned accounts.
Establish and manage territory channel partner field promotional activity - (VWR, Fisher, specialty distributors and Manufacturer Representatives.)
Develop and maintain a territory coverage plan allowing for timely coverage of key accounts and channel partners. Account activities must be entered and tracked within Goldmine.
Develop a working knowledge of Company products.
Develop a working knowledge of competitors.
Become proficient in all current sales, marketing, and administrative tools, including computers and software.
Coordinate Distributor Vendor Shows within territory
ORGANIZES:
Presents territory plan in fully prepared and complete fashion.
Ensures execution of territory plan in timely fashion.
Enters activities into Goldmine and provides period reports in fully prepared, complete, and timely fashion.
MOTIVATES & COMMUNICATES:
Maintains good working relationship with company members, channel partners, and customers.
Develops superior quality image and communicates that to channel partners and customers.
Communicates improvements, opportunities, new product ideas, competitive activities, and obstacles on an as needed basis through supervisor and/or marketing department.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
BA or BS degree or equivalent job experience and a working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office are required. A minimum of 3 years of outside sales experience selling consumables and/or equipment to Pharmaceutical, Biotech and Research Institutions is preferred. A valid drivers license accompanying a good driving record is required. Overnight travel is required. Knowledge of Goldmine reporting is a plus.
Bilingual English/Spanish Speaking a plus
Territory encompances Southern California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Mexico and part of Nevada.
